Stayed in Stanthorpe – now in Queensland- time one hour ahead, very nice site but no intenet.
Got up early off to Warwick, had a walk around the town, lovely sand stone buildings. Then it was on to Toowooba, where we went up to the escarpment to have a look over the city. Could see for miles. Finally to Esk where we spent the night. Between Stanthorpe and Esk it is farm land, vegetables and fruit. Stopped along the way and got tree ripened Avocados and limes, sure taste different that those in the stores at home. 5 Avocadoes and 3 limes -$2.50

Got up very early – 5:30 AM birds were up- the make a marvelous noise. Leaving Esk – advised to take a different road – one along the lakes – was a good choise – seem our first Koala that would pose for the camera. This route takes you via Kilcoy and Woodford. As you travel along you see the tops of the Glass House Mountains, named by Captian Cook, as they looked much like the chimneys of the glass making factories of Yorkshire. Then it was up the Bruce Highway to Gympie and on to Herveys Bay where we will spent the tonight and tomorrow.

Just a day to rest on have a good look at the beach and walk around. Have to get groceries and water. Where we are staying is just off the beach at the Herveys Bay Beach Club. Warm, windy and just beautiful. Tomorrow we are off to Biloela to visit a second cousin. Going to stay off the freeway as it tend to be very hot driving, going bush again.
