Left Stockton Caravan park this morning about 8:30 - sunny, windy about 26C Took a detour through Karauh on North Arm Cove. nice way of saying that we took a wrong turn. Finally made it to Maitland. then thought the pastoral farm country of the Hunter Valley. Stopped at the Arrowhead Winery and had lunch, bought a bottle of wine and some balsamic vinegar. We then took the Golden Highway to Muswellbrook, and on to Tamworth. All along the Golden Highway are mine, mostly coal mines and the local residents are not in favour of any further development in the mining industry by the signs along the road. The road from Muswellbrock to Tamworth is mainly farms - a large majority of the being horse ranches- race horses. Tomorrow Armidale and Glenn Innes.
