Teslin ToWhitehorse.
Left the lodge early - went to Teslin for breakfast and to visit several museums. The view of Teslin coming down the hill is very beautiful, with the bridge crossing the river with the village in the background. We had breakfast then visited the wildlife museum, and then a native centre- there are lots of very interesting things to see and do. Then back on the road to Whitehorse. The scenery is very beautiful with one majestic mountain view around each turn in the road. Then into Whitehorse and a walking tour of the city , with visit to the old paddle wheeler that is docked along the river, and old church several museums and various other interesting shops. Finally it was back to the hotel by 7PM and time to put our feet up and get things ready for the next day. Tomorrow it is on to Mayo and our walk at midnight. Will post photos later. Along the way we passed a lot of old antique vehicles going towards Teslin. They were part of the Tour de Alaska and have come from all over the world ( mainly England and Europe ) to do the tour. finally go a chance to take a photo of a couple when we stopped at Johnson's Crossing and while there seem a red fox that seemed to have made the area it home - was not afraid of people, but was still wild and was probably used to people feeding it, so got some photos.
June 18. 2009 Muncho Lake to Teslin .
June 18, 2009
started out from Muncho Lake after spending a hour after breakfast walking around the area of the Lodge that we stay. Quite - we walked up to an area of rock that has been brought down by an glacial area that has over the years receded. Along the edges there are wild orchids ( lady slippers) growing, these are yellow - not ones that I have seen before ( pictures enclosed )
We then drove on to Teslin with stops along the way at Watson Lake and at Whirlpool falls.
All along the way there are signs posted to watch for Buffalo and we were lucky to see four.
We arrived at Telsin at about 7:30 and stayed at a lodge on the lake. Had dinner - went for a short walk around and had an early evening.

June 17, 2009.
Waiting for Dee,s passport to arrive, waited until 3:30 PM and then when it arrived started our journey north, because of our leaving late did not take any photos at all. Drove from Ft. St. John all the way to Fort Nelson a total of 450 KM. only to find that there was no place to stay as the gas plant was doing a maintenance and there were lots of people in town for that and all the rooms were full, so we drove on to Muncho Lake another 256 Km . Muncho Lake is very beautiful. Very tired arrived at 11:30. Had to drive very carefully most of the way from Ft. Nelson to Muncho and there was lot of wildlife on the road. Moose , Elk , Deer and one Bear. Did not get any photos. Going to sleep in tomorrow and then get up and explore around the area where we are staying before we travel on. Will post again when we have Internet service. Have no cell phone service most place.
June16.2009 Prince George to Ft..St. John
June 16, 2009.
Got up early, had to finish cleaning the house and getting ready to go. Left the house about 8:30 AM and headed out . Raining off and on but it is warm. The drive was very pleasant but did not get many photos along the way because as the light rain and as usual it is raining where you want to stop. Arrived at the farm to visit my mother and brother Albert. Visited for a while and then went up to Dee's, where I will be staying overnight until we leave in the morning. Did take some photos of Azuetta Lake, so have put them in blog.

New adventure
June 15. 2009
Setting out on a new adventure - going to the Yukon with my sister Dee. What started out as a girl trip with a friend and her daughter and friend, has ended up with me and my sister going on a trip to the Yukon to do a 10 KM walk on the longest day of the year and to have just have a short trip around to see what the north is all about.
Leaving in the morning to travel to Fort St. John to pick up Dee and then on the 17th. will start a trip north. Will be trying to make daily posts with photos but do not know how the Internet service is in the north so may make post but not be able to get then on the Internet for several days.
There is a large forest fire along the Alaska highway at present and the road have been closed for part days, hoping that it will not delay our trip.
