White horse to Mayo June 21,2009

Left Whitehorse early in the morning after a afternoon of exploring around the town . We want to be in Mayo by 2:00 PM to get registered for the midnight walk. Got the last room in the town and go registered and then went for a walk around the town, not much to see so took a side trip to Keno. Was a very interesting trip - old silver mining town - only 16 people live here now. Then drove back to Mayo and a light dinner and had a rest for several hours befor going to the area that the walk and marathons were to start - started at midnight - was cool and odd drop of rain but nice for walking. Dee and I finished our walk 10KM in 1hour 35 minute and 7 seconds.
Dee finished 2nd in the Masters group and I finished 4th in the Seniors group. Was great fun - 227 participapents , doing either marathons - 1/2 marathons or walking 10KM or 21Km.
Was in bed by 3:00 AM and then got up the next morning for a fantastic breakfast pu to by the Village of Mayo for all the participants.
We left Mayo for Dawson City in the afternoon and arrived about 4 PM and had time to have a short walk about befor we had dinner and went to see the show at Diamond Tooth Gerties.
The show is a replica of what would have been during the 1900's when Dawson was a roudy gold mining town of some 20,000 plus minings etc. Tomorrow were are going to see if we can rent some bikes to ride around and check out the rest of the town and visit some of the muesums.
